ORGANS and TISSUES
ORGANS:- Kidneys; Hearts; Lungs; Liver; Pancreas; Bowels.
Usually one organ is transplanted but sometimes two, very occasionally three.
Most in UK six organs (stomach, duodenum, small intestine, liver, pancreas and kidney).
TISSUES:- Corneas; Heart Valves; Bone; Skin; Connective Tissue.
When skin is retrieved it is only a thin sliver of skin. This is removed from discreet areas
of the body resulting in a barely noticeable mark.
In the case of corneas the eyes are retrieved and replaced with either
cotton wool and plastic caps or glass eyes.
